William Tunks, Ship Marine, HMS Sirius 1788

Marine Private 26th Portsmouth, Ship Marine, HMS Sirius 1788. Tunks was still a ship’s marine aboard HMS Sirius when the ship was dispatched to the Cape of Good Hope for provisions and supplies for the struggling colony, departing Port Jackson on 2 Oct 1788. HMS Sirius arrived back at Port Jackson 9 May 1789. Tonks was discharged to the Port Jackson Marine Garrison 5 Jun 1789.
